Setup for Blender 5.0+

Whippet uses the default Storyboarding Workspace with Blender 5.0. Ensure there is a ‘Storyboarding’ workspace and a ‘Video Editing’ workspace.

  1. To setup the Storyboarding Workspace, simply go to File > New > Storyboarding or when you launch Blender, you can select Storyboarding from the startup prompt. Do not change the names of these workspaces, doing so will break some Whippet operators.
  2. Ensure your Edit Scene is pinned to the Video Editing Workspace. This keep the Edit scene on the workspace when you switch to it.

Setup for Blender 4.5

In order for Whippet to function properly across multiple scenes and to import playblasts directly into the a designated Video Sequence Editor (VSE), you must ensure that each scene name is given a 3 letter abbreviation. It can be alphanumeric and is not case sensitive (i.e. AAA, abc, 2D1, etc). Each Scene must be pinned to a Workspace and the Workspace tab name should match the Scene name. This gives Whippet the ability to jump between different Scenes and VSE seamlessly.

Scene Names match Workspaces and are pinned to Workspaces. Toggle the Pin icon to pin a workspace to a scene.
