Scene Tools
Whippet offers several features to help you create new scenes and manage scene strips letting you work faster and spend less time managing the edit sequencer. At the top of the Whippet add-on in the N-Panel menu, there are a few scene tool buttons to help add new Scenes. Scene Assets can now be created and shared with other artists making Scenes more robust.
Setup Tools
- Show Name, Sequence, Artist - these fields are not require and do not transfer into an exports. There is a PDF feature but it’s pending release because it requires additional Python code to run properly.
- Edit Scene - Select the Edit Scene that is assigned to the Sequencer area. Ensure the same scene is selected and pinned to the Video Editing workspace.
- Camera Frame Start - is the starting frame of the first camera when creating new scenes.
Scene Tools
- Whippet! - this is a one button press to help you create 1-10 2D Scene Shots. Refer to the Quick Start guide on how this works.
- New Scene creates a blank empty scene.
- Duplicate Scene -
- Rename Scene & Assets - if you duplicate or create a new scene without using the Whippet New/Duplicate Scene buttons then you’ll want to use Rename Scene/Assets to properly name all the Whippet cameras and collections.
- Add Collections - creates Whippet collection folders based on the scene name if you need it. Using the New Scene, Duplicate Scene or Create New Camera will create the collections for you so you won’t frequently use this button.
